Join me as we embark on mystical journeys across realms, time, and space to lands of magic, excitement, whimsy, and terror.
Dudley's Fantasy Forge is your one–stop shop for world–building advice, GM tips & tricks, one–shot inspriation, and campaign advice. Let's get rolling!
THE STORIES we tell at our game tables take place in fantastical worlds, and Dungeons & Dragons has established many wonderfully crafted realms for your players to explore. For those of you that would rather not rely on pre–existing worlds in their entirety, you will be participating in what's commonly known as "homebrew". These worlds of your own creation may be heavily inspired by other genres and other worlds as well, but you can make your own maps, establish your own lore, and send your players on adventures that are unique to your table. Much of the advice you will find explains that unless you plan on publishing an adventure, PLAGIARISM IS OKAY. By this, I mean it is perfectly fine for you to rip off bits and pieces from other people's worlds; many go–to's include George R.R. Martin, J.R.R Tolkien, D&D itself, video games, TV, and books. Don't be afraid to mix and match to create something you and your players will enjoy.
