About Me
My name is Brock Dudley, I'm 27 years old, and I've been playing TTRPG's, mostly D&D, for over 5 years. I've been a Dungeon Master for 3 of those, and I currently play in one game that meets weekly, and run my own campaign in another game that also meets weekly. I have a passion for this game, as it's my primary creative outlet, and if it weren't for my scheduled time with friends and rolling shiny math rocks and telling these phenomenal stories, I would be a very empty person.
As Matt Mercer said when he visited UWEC this year, "when we play these games, these are real experiences that happen to us. When we tell stories about our sessions, we don't say, "oh remember when your character did this or that," we say "do you remember when I jumped across a rooftop to catch our friend after he slipped and fell?" These games are deeply personal and emotional connections for us. I have cried when my Divination wizard, Adrianna, died after fighting an eldritch beast that was a key creature in another player's backstory. I have made other players at my table cry when I monologued the note she left them before they went into the fight. I have laughed harder than ever before, and we have jokes that will last a lifetime from these games. We keep a quote book, and I regularly look back on it to see all the crap we've said that makes zero sense out of context, but when said in front of the group, everyone is instantly transported back to that moment.
I love this game, and I love the people I play with. One of my friends that I met through D&D is now going to be the best man at my wedding. I hope that this website can help you feel inspired to make these memories that will last a lifetime, and take your game to the next level.
